Eleven Udall freshmen have earned top recognition for their achievements on the PreACT 8/9 exam that they took in the fall. The freshmen who earned this recognition are Savanna Lawrence, Nehemiah Hatfield, Emerson Bass, Caleb Fahey, Alina Iniguez, Braxton Logsdon, Arissika Giddeon, Crayton Smith, Ella Giddens, Natalie Perkins, and Addisyn Barnes. The PreACT Rising Stars program honors students who score in the top half of all U.S. students who take the PreACT 8/9 assessment. The exam provides a preview of the ACT, along with a prediction of how they might perform when they take it their junior year. The Rising Stars program recognizes students at three levels. * Distinguished Scholars - top 5% of test takers. * Rising Scholars - top 6-15% of test takers. * Early Scholars - top 16-50% of test takers. All eleven students received a certificate. The four students who earned Distinguished or Rising Scholar received a pin, as well.

Our UHS FFA members stepped up and raised items for the Udall FFA Wildfire Relief Fund. Our FFA members called local businesses and community members raising over $2,200 for the wildfire relief for farmers and ranchers in southwest Kansas. We also received 500 lbs of feed from local donors and box of fencing supplies. The money raised purchased a full pallet of range cubes and two pallets of lick tubs from the Udall Two Rivers COOP. A special thank you goes out to Two Rivers COOP who also graciously helped our FFA chapter by transporting the items on their truck of supplies that they have put together.
